# Can you use an old version of Kaleidoscope on the Model 100?

Just wondering - can you use an old version of Kaleidoscope on the Model 100?

The motivation here is 1) get MacrosOnTheFly working again and 2) the old macro system, which allowed me to do things that I’m having trouble getting the new one to do.

In general, if the version of Kaleidoscope predates the Model 100, then no.

On top of that, early versions of Kaleidoscope that did support the Model 100 had some pretty rough edges in their USB support.

What specific things are you hoping to do with macros that you’re having trouble with?

I want MacrosOnTheFly to work… I want to be able to press a macro key, type something, and have that be a macro

is the only hope to use the Model01 for that?
