# Key bindings off in MacOS

Hey all! Just got my keyboard and hooked it up to my MacBook Pro a few hours ago. I’ve seen that some key bindings are not as expected— eg SHIFT+7 prints an apostrophe whereas the “ ‘ key prints colon without shift and asterisk with shift. There are several others. Is there some configuration step I missed?

It seems like your laptop has recognized your keyboard as something other than a standard US QWERTY device. When you plugged it in, did you go through the macOS Keyboard Setup Assistant? If so, the “correct” answers to the questions it asks do not reflect the physical layout of the Model01. See here:
