Have you ever considered implementing some aspects of the SWISS-German-QWERTZ layout for French/Italian-capabilities etc. inside the current German-Layout? Perhaps this could also go towards a ‘multinational layout concept’ in the future.
Imho that is exactly what goes on here: what kind if qwertz layout? German only, „european“, German with programmers/Authors focus? The standard layout is probably not working as it has a bunch more keys ![]()
It is probably not a good idea to put too many different legends on the caps. I am not really the target audience here (use modular-A keycaps), but my guess is: less is more ![]()
Agreed. I’m also aware that various European-Layouts use different key combinations to get:
aigu [ ´ ]
grave [ ` ]
circonflexe [ ^ ]
I guess the new QWERTZ-Layout will be ‘inspired’ by the ‘DE-combination’ variant, partly also due to the predetermined legends.
Using semi-Translucent keycaps on my side.
I’m inquiring for the audience that actually uses legends. And since they are not available in vast varieties online maybe one could take additional rows of legends with smaller fonts into consideration resulting in a multifunctional keycap-set out of the box.
The Model 01/100 has previously gotten design inspirations from the Tron-keyboards sold in Japan, as noted by Jesse.
Perhaps one could take also take note of their keycaps and the ‘function over design’ aspect of things. A Swiss-army-knife that could suit various users. Perhaps not only using the top of the keycap. Perhaps one keycap-set could accommodate color-coded-legends, with or without RGB-lighting.
