Programmatically speaking, the behaviour of the Any key can be modified by Shift just like other keys are, right?
By default the Any key is not bound to any functionality, as in, it does not emit a keycode. You can - and are encouraged to - reprogram the layout to give it some functionality. It is up to you then, what that may be. If you’ll use a normal key code, then yes, Shift and the other modifiers will work with it, just like with any other key.
