I wrote them 2 times, once at the beginning of the year, got no reply, then again some months ago, still no reply. What’s going on?

Several people have tried to get support. There’s been no activity by the owners. It therefore seems like they have lost interest or unable to reply, or some other reason. Essentially, it seems keyboardio has “stopped” for the moment, and maybe permanently, I think Jesse Vincent is now doing AI related stuff: Superpowers.
Either way, there’s very little to no activity here. I say this as the owner of a model 100 and Atreus. Maybe there is a discord or keyboardio is active elsewhere?
There is a Discord: go to About Us – Keyboardio and scroll to the bottom. On the left, click “Discord Chat”. Also you can click on “Blog” for the latest news. It seems that “The Orange Man” drove Keyboardio out of business. The boards were made in China and it’s most likely that manufacturing has shut down and the factory they used has been retooled for something else. A restart looks improbable and unlikely since Jesse has focused elsewhere. A parting message would have been nice but it didn’t happen. It looks like they will still ship the remaining inventory but users in Discord report that it’s slow in arriving. Looks like there is still 100s with 3 choices of switches and some Atreus boards with 5 switch options. I have a 6 year old Atreus that has always and still works perfectly and I still have 8 spare switches (speed copper) and it’s been 4 years since one failed. I hope it works forever but if it fails I will probably go to Kyria that my son has been using for a few years now. It has more keys (50) but the layout is most similar to my Atreus.
ps: mine runs with a Dvorak layout. I switched cold turkey to Dvorak 37 years ago!
That’s a shame. I love my keyboardio 100. Out of curiosity, what keyboard is the closest to the 100 in terms of ergonomics, key layout etc. Nice to know what I can jump ship to when this one breaks down.
This is one of the reasons I’ve added QMK support for the Model 100. I suspect Kaleidoscope/Chrysalis will see little in the way of support in the future.
There’s been no announcement to the community or anything about a change in direction, support expectations, or the future of the platform/hardware? If so, that’s exceedingly unprofessional and poor behaviour. Disappointing, in an extreme.
Does anyone have any news they can communicate about the direction being taken here?

Not a lot tbh. The palm button is unique.
If you can build you own keyboard then it wouldn’t be too difficult to use the metal baseplate inside and hand wire the new array to bypass the PCB if you wanted to remake the electronics inside the same shell. I have 2 Model 01’s right now. On one of the left controllers the thumb and A buttons have stopped working.
I tried switching to corne, but I have like 10 years muscle memory now on the Keyboario’s.
I would like to order 2 new Model 100’s that will probably see me out until retirement, but I don’t know if they are even fulfilling orders now? I email them asking and no reply.
One one is expecing Jesse to keep this going forever. But he should wind it down properly if that’s his intention.
No problem, I’ve been meaning to do it for a long time. My Model 01 has a failed key which forced my hand. I’m using QMK on the Model 100 as my daily driver now.
It should be merged soon, any problems just let me know or raise a ticket.

I replaced all my quite clicks with red linears on the Model 01. Actually after my last reply I tool apart the broken one and cleaned it out. Just brushed it out and it started working again 
. Maybe there was some debris making a short or something. I have had no chatter since chaning to Linears on them. Reading up on the issue a while ago, Jesse mentioned it was due to a batch issue from the manufacturer, so my Linear’s have come from a much later batch, and hopefully fixed now.
What benefits does QMK have over the built in editor?
A farewell message would have been nice indeed. Many have been supporters from the beginning or contributed to the firmware. I am owning four of keyboard.io keyboards starting with the 01.
At least everything is opensource but it really is a shame. 
Also @jesse seems like to be no registered user anymore?
I prefer the tooling for QMK, it’s all command line with no reliance on Arduino. Much wider community support. I use it for all my keyboards so I can code share between them.
