I don’t know if anyone did this before. I first used a cloth to cover my k keyboardio, but one day I had this idea: I removed the top foam pieces from the original box (which wasn’t hard at all since they were fixed with double sided tape), and, voilá: perfect fitting dust covers. Here’s what it looks like:
Yup, great idea. If the packing is well made (moulded), I often use the packaging as dust covers. I do exactly the same for my Ergodox EZ, Logitech M570 trackball and Filco keyboard. The packaging makes perfect dust covers. And in all my examples, the packaging was clear plastic, so doesn’t look bad at all, because you still see the device underneath it.
