Issue with non-responsive ctrl key on loud-click keyboard

I have a clicky keyboard that initially suffered from the dreaded key chatter. Cleaning the switch with isopropyl alcohol a couple of times fixed the problem and it’s been fine for months.

Now, the same key struggles to respond to key presses and I have to consciously hold it down for it to register. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I try and replace the switch?

If alcohol isn’t helping, one (no-warranty-supported) option may be opening the switch to clean it.

Note that we strongly recommend -not- bending either of the electrical contacts inside Matias switches.

I also have an issue where the left Ctrl key just stopped registering. I’ll also see about cleaning.
