Model 100 unresponsive after factory reset

First, let me say I’m not a programmer and have no experience as such. I’ve been using the Model 100 since kickstarter, however, and this is the first time I’m having difficulty.

When I came back to my PC this morning, my keyboard was lit as normal, but unresponsive. After unplgging and then reseating all cables, it went dark. I then opened Chrysalis, unplugged the USB cable, held down the PROG key, and reconnected the cable. As usual, the PROG key lit red. I then attempted to update and restore to factory defaults. The left hand column flashed green for about 4 seconds and then a single key (usually PGDN) lit solid green. After clicking the OK button to reconnect, the connect to serial port dialogue pops up, but it states “no compatible devices found”.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

Hi lightly.seared,

How unfortunate :frowning:

The “not a programmer and no experience” is a quite broad disclaimer, and makes it difficult to give useful advice.

The keyboard runs on Arduino. If it were my keyboard and Chrysalis does not respond, I"d try the Arduino IDE and see if it is possible at any level to communicate with the Arduino. If not, next steps would be “direct” serial connection ( bypassing USB of the keyboard, using either a machine that has a serial port or another USB/serial connector)

Any chance there’s a hack/makerspace or anything like that in the neighbourhood to help you get started?

Good luck!

My Model 100 was unresponsive and not recognized by Chrysalis. As my Model 01 was awaiting repairs I ended up porting QMK to the Model 100. I’ve had no problems since then.
