When I’m working on my laptop without an external keyboard, I use the Linux program xkbset to turn my modifiers into ‘oneshot’ keys. Without LEDs, I occasionally get stuck with one or more of the modifiers in the ‘latched’ position, and it can be irritating figuring out which one and get back to normal.
I just discovered the OneShotEscape plugin for the model 1. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for when I’m using xkbset. Does anyone know if there’s a way to add this feature to a regular laptop keyboard, with xkbset or something else?
