How to add symbols in chrysalis

Hello,

I really like the Atreus, but I am having much trouble configuring the layout, particularly adding symbol keys such as ^, ?, _, ~, <, >, |, etc.

Within Chrysalis, under Layout Editor, a complete keyboard is present under the Atreus interactive keyboard, but I can only click and add keys that do not require the shift key being held.

When I hover the mouse over each key, the other symbols show in a small hover box, but it seems there isn’t a way to add them to the Atreus keymap.

Is there any way to add the keys that require holding shift?

Within Chrysalis, I also see there is a ‘Kaleidoscope Custom Key Code’ box under ‘Advanced’; is there a list of the codes and their characters somewhere?

I have tried searching the internet for such a list but have not found one; am I missing something?

I made a text file list of the codes that were already added and moving keys by entering these codes in that key code box seems to work but I need to add characters that aren’t already present and don’t have the codes.

Thank you for any assistance; I’ve put a lot of time into this and can’t seem to get it.

I don’t know enough to move away from the graphical editor Chrysalis, but would really like to add these symbols so I can use the complete keyboard.

Thanks again,

Chris

Yes! And it’s easy.

First enter the key that you want the shifted value for; then go to MODIFIERS and add the modifer ‘Shift’.

In the image on the left I entered:

1 2 3 4 5
6 7 8 9 0

Those are the top row numbers, not the numpad numbers. Numpad numbers are what I used on the right side; they’re are arranged that way because I find it easier to type multiple numbers that way. 1234567890.

Then I added the ‘Shift’ in MODIFIERS to each and got the shifted characters in one key each. No need to hit shift !@#$%^&*()

? is a shifted / and so on.

Similarly you can program a control-C to get copy in one key.
