The media keys on my laptop’s keyboard work fine, but not the media keys (Key_ConsumerPlaySlashPause, for example) on the Model 01. xev doesn’t even report the keypress, which is odd. Any thoughts on what might be going wrong?
Are you running the factory firmware, or are you using a recent-ish git checkout?

In that case, please try updating!
I recently introduced a mistake that forced the keyboard into boot mode, which does not support media keys. That change has been reverted since, and consumer keys (including play/pause) should work again.
This revert was merged about 14 hours ago, so if your git checkout is older than that, try an update.
